What is the difference between Soft Gel, Builder Gel and Gel-X services? How do I know which one is right for me?

At Rosebud Nail Studio, we offer 3 types of soft gel services:

Soft Gel Manicure

For normal and healthy natural nails that are not looking for extra length or strength. Service includes cuticle treatment, shaping and buffing, colour gel polish, and cuticle oil.

Builder Gel

Generally for weak brittle damaged nails, no extra length is applied, but instead there is added thickness and strength. Service includes cuticle treatment, shaping and buffing, builder gel overlay to add thickness and a curved apex (creating a fuller look) to the nail, colour gel polish, and cuticle oil.

Gel-X Extensions

Suitable for those who are needing extensions for long nails, Gel-X is softer than acrylics and will absorb more shock impact – meaning, it doesn’t hurt as much when trauma is placed on it (e.g. hit on the side of a table). This service includes cuticle treatment, Gel-X extension tip application, shaping and buffing, colour gel polish, and cuticle oil.

Now, which ones right for you?

For thin, brittle and/or damaged nails that break easily – we recommend Builder Gel (no length) or Gel-X (length).

For already healthy nails that are not looking for extra length or thickness/strength – opt for the Soft Gel Manicure instead!

What do different nail art times mean?

With your choice of nail service, you may choose an add-on nail art service – which is organised into different time categories.

Simple nail designs such as complete single colour only, jelly/syrup gel polish and cat eye gel – will not require additional nail art charges.

“Basic” Nail Art - Examples

  • Up to two simple feature nails (e.g. glitter toppers or simple shapes such as hearts, stars, dotted flowers)

  • Full set of ‘glazed donut’ style nail art

“Intermediate” Nail Art - Examples

  • Classic French tips

  • Modified French tips (e.g. Up to two colours of choice or addition of bow/charm on max. two fingers)

  • Swirl design nail art – up to 2 colours

  • 2-4 nail charms

“Advanced” Nail Art - Examples

  • Swirl design nail art – between 3-4 colours with varying lines of thickness

  • Monochrome “one colour only” colour marbling (eg. pink marbling)

  • Advanced French tips (e.g. Hand drawn flowers, fruit drawings, butterflies, swirls, or 3+ colours tips)

  • Stars and moons

“Ultimate” Nail Art - Examples

  • 2-4 colour marbling (e.g. ocean marbling)

  • Jewel applications (e.g. aurora glass, 4 or more nails of diamonds/pearls arrangements, large charms)

  • Anime or themed nail design (e.g. Sanrio character nails, TV Show nails – like Nezuko!)

  • Extensive jewel applications (e.g. Sailor Moon nails)

Something has happened and I need to make changes to my appointment/design plan!

We understand that life happens and can accommodate for some individual circumstances, provided its situation and time. You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours prior to your appointment. If within 24 hours of your appointment, please contact us via our Instagram DM and we will try our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

What are the payment options available during your studio services?

Payment will be required after your appointment – which will include the total cost, minus the deposit made from the initial booking.

The following are available:

  • Cash - 10% discount

  • Bank Transfer – No surcharge

  • Card EFTPOS – 2.2% surcharge will incur

Where do you ship press on nails & will I receive tracking?

Currently, we only ship our items to Australian postal addresses (can include P.O. Boxes or Parcel Collect). This does mean that we unfortunately do not ship internationally – but perhaps in the future we may!

Only express post orders are tracked with our courier, Australia Post. Please allow approximately 24 hours for some tracking codes to load into the system!

Additionally, during peak season (e.g. Black Friday, Xmas periods) there may be delays to the postal network, including express – which is completely dependent on our courier. Please check their regularly updated website for more information in regards to delivery estimates.

How long will my order take?

The processing time for our press-ons include various procedures such as: receiving the order (keep in mind there may be periods of high order volumes), hand creating the press on nails, then finally packaging for dispatch. As a result, it will take anywhere between 2-4 weeks + additional postage times in order to receive your items. We kindly ask our clients and customers to plan their orders in advance – we promise you it’s worth the wait!

Order shipment time can be expected on average between 3-5 business days, after the parcel has been dispatched OR 2 business days with the Express option.

What is your refund/exchange/faulty replacement policy?

Please note that all sales are final, and there can be no refunds or exchanges for change or mind due to the nature of customized sizing. If you have mistakenly entered the wrong sizing details or shipping address, depending on the progress of your order – changes may be permitted at discretion.

Faulty items will only be accepted for review if notified within 24 hours since the parcel has been notified as received. If you have noticed an issue with your order, please click here for instructions.

If with any reason you are unsatisfied with your order or require replacement nails, please follow the above steps (select ‘Order Issue/Faulty’) to contact us for a resolution.

Can I customise the press-ons?

Our press-ons are carefully curated and hand designed, according to the latest nail art and design trend forecasts within Western and Eastern media influences. Due to this meticulous process, it is difficult to change the nail designs from its intentional shape, length, charms and colour.

Fortunately, we have and always will continue to offer full customisation for nail sizing – so that everyone will be able to wear and love the designs as much as we do!

On the unlikely occasion that some designs have increased in orders, we may run out of the supplies that create the product. In the event of this case, we will contact all affected customers and provide the option for reviewing an adjusted design (e.g. different material/charm is used) or a issue a full refund.
